Michael J McCarthy is a Montréal based vaudevillian, inspired by the work of John Waters and Divine. He is the co-founder, creative director and video editor of the Glam Gam. Michael is known for his comedic and provocative reinterpretation of sexiness, blurring the lines between arousing and disgusting. McCarthy’s colorful performances, masked behind a cloak of humor often reveal a subversive message in addition to a naked body. His past and present endeavors outside Glam Gam include writing freelance for DailyXtra, volunteering with the elderly and co-hosting Lipster Karaoke & Bareoke with his co-conspirator
Julie Paquet. He has a bachelor of arts in Communications Studies from Concordia University where he is currently pursuing his masters in fine arts in Drama Therapy.
